Now you can add cruise control to your Volkswagen! We’ve modified and installed this system into our own shop truck and have found it a life saver on the long drives! The system works just like a normal cruise control with simple on/off, set/coast, and resume/increase functions. System turns off with the push of your brakes or if you depress the clutch (the system will sense RPM increase and deactivate).
On Swingaxle cars, the magnets will have to be double stick taped to the inner wheel, two magnets 180 degrees apart. On IRS cars the magnets can be simply zip tied to the CV axle 180 apart from each other. The universal brackets allow you to mount the speed sensor for the magnets and bend it as needed to line up for proper reading.
System comes with cruise control unit with all brackets and cables, etc, a wheel/axle speed sensor kit, and the delux dash control with activation light. DIP switches are pre-programmed as we have it set to work properly in our own shop truck!
This is currently a universal kit with an extended harness to install into VW. Product comes with a myriad of brackets and cable ends to adapt as needed. This system installed EXTREMELY easy onto our Holley Sniper 1100 EFI kit. We are in development of a specific bracket to install onto a Solex carburetor and Dual carburetor systems for an easier install. Stay tuned!
