Gauge comobo! This is what we run in both of our heavy, overloaded transporters! The Cylinder head temp gauge fits right in where the stock fuel gauge went on the left side of the speedometer, the speedometer fits right in the stock location!
Designed with a VW style gauge face to keep a normal look in your bus!
The Speedometer is GPS so your speed is accurate regardless of tire size, and includes features such as compass, odometer, top speed reached, elevation, and clock.
Speedhut speedometers do NOT come with oil and gen/alt lights. External lights must be used. We include oil pressure and alt/gen lights, plus a resistor that goes into the gen/alt light for proper load to get the alternator to excite and start charging like normal (LED lights normally won’t do the job on their own)
The fuel gauge inside the speedometer is programmable to work with various sending units by programming to the actual ohms of the sending unit itself if wanted! A programable warning light to set where you want for “low fuel” makes forgetting to get gas almost fool proof!
The cylinder head temperature gauge come with a 14mm thermocouple ring. 12mm rings are available separately for modern cylinder heads. Note that stock cylinder heads and some brands of aftermarket will require clearancing near the plug hole for the sensor to clear. We have found (so far) that MoFoCo heads and EMPI’s GTV-2 cylinder head castings require no clearancing for the sensor to fit. All Type 4 heads we have used have required clearancing
We tape over the hole and use a 3/8 burr bit to clearance a spot as you can see on these type 4 heads.
Cylinder head temperature is your critical engine temp. By the time oil possibly hits a high enough temp to cause damage the heads are likely toast by then anyway.
